Mayor Fiala Begins "Mayor's Nights Out"

Mayor Bob Fiala is beginning his previously scheduled "Mayor's Nights Out" delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. These informal gatherings are intended to be conversations between our residents and the Mayor to discuss topics important to our City. The "Mayor's Nights Out" provides an opportunity for Willoughby residents to have open and candid discussions without a set agenda or script.

Osborne Park Receives $200,000 Planning Grant from the ODNR

The City of Willoughby has received a $200,000 Emergency Erosion Assistance Grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This grant will be combined with a $50,000 budget allocation approved by City Council for the planning and engineering for a re-imagined Osborne Park. We have retained the services of The Smith Group, a nationally respected firm, and experts in coastal erosion and park planning. The administration is looking forward to engaging our residents this Fall to assist in the planning effort.

Willoughby Amphitheater and River Trail Planning to Begin

August 9, 2021

Willoughby City Council has approved the acceptance of qualified designers to assist in the Planning of the proposed amphitheater and river trail at Todd Fields. This effort is part of a larger trail project that is planned to link Daniels Park to Lake Erie in Eastlake. The Chagrin River Trail initiative involves over 15 governmental, non-governmental, and non-profit agencies in a collaborative effort to reshape the Chagrin River corridor. We are planning for a public "visioning" session this fall to engage our residents.
